BOSTON: The Boston Bruins scored five goals in a wild third period to upend the Philadelphia Flyers 7-5 in a clash of divisional leaders Thursday. With the score tied at 5-5, Boston's Steven Kampfer struck a wrist shot inside the far post with 1:14 left in the third period to settle a contest that had five lead changes, before Gregory Campbell's empty net goal capped the scoring. “There was a comeback early, a comeback late and it was a comeback the whole night really,” Bruins winger Mark Recchi said. “We just stayed composed and stayed with it and got a couple of big goals from some guys that were important.” The Flyers had led 3-2 heading into the final period but Boston scored two goals 1:10 apart in the opening two minutes of the session to reclaim the lead. Philadelphia replied with two goals in less than a minute to take a 5-4 lead before Brad Marchand tied the game with 8:34 remaining, taking a pass from Blake Wheeler and launching a shot through the legs of a defender into the top corner. Moments before the goal it appeared that the puck had gone over the glass and off the netting in the Bruins zone, which should have halted play. “I was on the ice and it hit the netting, for sure,” Flyers defenseman Sean O'Donnell said. “It's one of those things that you let up for a second because you think they're going to blow it down and when they don't, it takes you a second to get back into your rhythm.” The triumph stretched the Northeast Division-leading Bruins' winning streak to three games while the loss ended a four-game run of victories for the Flyers, who lead the Atlantic Division.
