IN order to connect with friends and family back home in Indonesia, a group of Indonesian hotel and healthcare workers in the Kingdom recently launched a website called IPDB Ikatan Persaudaraan Duta Bangsa (Brotherhood Association of the Nation's Ambassador) at the Indonesian consulate in Jeddah. Held on Jan. 4, the event was hosted by the Consul General of Indonesia Zakaria Anshar, who also officially launched the IPDB website. He also invited members of the audience to foster similar channels of communication with the consulate. Through this particular channel, the Consul General says that communication between the consulate and the Indonesian community will become much more productive and rewarding. He also expressed hope that his compatriots would become more aware, respectful and responsible residents in this new year. “Let's become more informed, more educated, and more empowered through this communication channel,” he stated in his speech. A short presentation by Asim Garut, the Director of all three hotels in Makkah Clock Royal Tower called “How to Pursue a Career in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” was also shown while a brief description was given by the Indonesian Consul of Economy Djoko Agung Rahardjo on employment opportunities in the Kingdom.
