JEDDAH: Kanoo Group will sponsor the Premier League of Jeddah Cricket Association. Kanoo Group in its endeavor to promote cricket in Saudi Arabia has been actively involved in sponsoring cricket teams and local leagues of various associations besides its Kanoo Inter Division Leagues for its employees in all areas of the Kingdom. Khalid Mohammed Kanoo, Deputy Chairman, Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo, approved the sponsorship for 2010-2011. The check was presented by Ali Abdullah Kanoo along with A.A. Merchant, Chief Finance Manager of Kanoo, to Dr. Faiz Al-Abideen Chairman, JCA. Also present at the ceremony were Humayoon Farooq, Vice Chairman, and Syed Majeedul Hassan, Executive Secretary. While handing over the check, Ali Abdullah Kanoo opined that cricket, like in any other sports, to run it successfully needs 3 categories of people – those who play, those who organize and those who provide sponsorship. And Kanoo belongs to the third category. He appreciated the efforts of JCA. Dr. Faiz Al Abideen thanked the Kanoo management for their continued support to JCA and was confident that the long-term relationship of Kanoo and JCA will continue to prosper in future.
