IDB continues the winning run

JEDDAH: The Morning and Afternoon Tournaments of the WPCA saw mixed results in Week 7. IDB continued its victory march to be on the top after defeating Ealaf Engineering, Fuchs Hamrani had the last laugh against Red Sea Paints, Zultrack humbled My Care Hala Blue and Mohtareef lost to ATS.
In other matches, Usman Gems Blue defeated My Care Hala Green, Hala International School got the better of Universal Coil and PISJ won against Mercedes Benz.
Red Sea Paints batting first was all out for 142 as Shafiq hammered 55 in 25 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes and Sajid made 31. For Hamrani Irfan took 2-4, Haroon 2-20 and Irfan Anjum 2-26. In reply, Fuchs Hamrani raced to 145-9 with Mukhtar making 39 and Rukhban 29. Shehzad had 2-12, Shafiq 2-27 and Ijaz 2-32 for Painters.
In another encounter Saddiq stroked 7 fours and 2 sixes to compile 65 and Usman scored 36 to lift Ealaf Engineering to 179-8 in 20 overs. Misbah took 3-25, Khalid 2-21 and Ijaz 2-46. IDB responded with 180-6 in mere 16.2 overs as Anjum hit 42 which was studded with 5 boundaries and 3 sixes, prolific Riaz made 41 and later Ejaz with 6 fours and 2 sixes got to 47 not out to get to the victory target. Siddiq took 3-36 and Shah 2-33.
My Care Hala Blue taking the strike first racked up 191-8 as Romesh plundered 75 with 9 fours and 3 sixes and Shifas made 22. Nadeem grabbed 3-33 for Zultrack. Zultrack, in reply, made 192-7 in 101 balls as Arif N blasted 51 in 22 balls (7X4,1X6), Rasheed 21 and Arif 27. Hiran scalped 3-20 and Waseem 2-33 for Blues.
In the morning encounters, Usman Gems Blue achieved the winning total of 151-2 in just 93 balls as openers Iqbal hammered 56 in 44 balls and Abdul Rauf made 46 in mere 21 balls with 3 sixes and 4 hits to the fence to put on 79 for the first wicket in just 7 overs. Later Saqib hit 37 not out.
Earlier, My Care Hala Green recorded 148-8 in 18 overs with Majid blasting 76 in 47 balls but none supported him with any substantial contribution. For Blue Gems, Zahid took 2-41, Aman had 2-10 and Kashif 2-26.
Mercedes Benz tallied 146-8 against PISJ-ES as Ilyas made 63 with 9 fours and a six and Azhar scored 24. Hamza took 2-14 and Shoaib 2-24. PISJ-ES achieved the target in 89 balls with 8 wickets in hand to win the match comfortably.
