Nasr shot to the top of Zain Saudi Professional League standings thrashing visitors Najran 6-1 in a round-14 match in Riyadh Friday. In other matches Al-Ittihad was held 2-2 by Al-Ittifaq; Al-Hilal was held 2-2 by Al-Ta'awon; and Al-Ahli beat Al-Hazm 3-1. In Riyadh, midfielder Abdul-Ilah Rasan put Najran in front in the first minute. Romanian midfielder Razvan Cocis leveled the score for Nasr 11 minutes later. Striker Rayyan Bilal put Nasr one up in the 21st minute before Abdurrahman Al-Qahtani widened the gap four minutes later. Another midfielder Khaled Al-Zaila'ay scored a fourth goal for the host nine minutes after the break and Bilal added his second seven minutes later. Striker Sa'ad Al-Harthi sealed the win for Nasr in the 71st minute. The win put Nasr on top of the standings thanks to a better goal-difference on 27 points. Al-Ittihad is second also with 27 points. Al-Ittihad lost the top spot after sharing four goals with host Al-Ittifaq at Prince Mohammed Bin Fahd Stadium in the Eastern Province. Portuguese midfielder Paulo Jorge put Ittihad in front 10 minutes after the break. However, Ittifaq striker Saleh Basheer leveled the scores from the spot in the 71st minute. Argentinean midfielder Sebastian Tegali put Ittifaq in the lead in the 84th minute only to see defender Osama Al-Muallad level the scores for Ittihad five minutes into injury time. Ittifaq is third on 26 points. Elsewhere, champion Al-Hilal played out a 2-2 draw against its host Al-Ta'awon in Buraidah. Hilal is fourth with 25 points, but has three matches in hand. Ta'awon is 11th on 13 points. The win lifted Ahli from the 13th spot to ninth on 14 points, while Hazm still occupies the last spot in the standings with six points.
