Shabab downs Wehdah in high-scoring encounter

JEDDAH: A late goal by striker Naji Majrashi gave Al-Shabab a 4-3 victory over its guest Al-Wehdah in a round 11 match of the Saudi Zain Professional League at Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh Friday.
South Korean midfielder of Shabab, Chong-Gug Song, put his team in the lead in the second minute of the match and his Brazilian teammate midfielder Marcelo Camacho increased the lead in the 16th minute.
Six minutes later, striker Nassir Al-Shamrani made it 3-0 for Shabab before Wehdah striker, Mohanned Aseeri reduced the margin eight minutes before the break. Making no mistake from the spot, Aseeri added another goal for the visitors in the 63rd minute. A minute later, Wehdah's Brazilian midfielder, Felipe Campos, leveled the score. However, Majrashi, from the spot too, scored the winner, during the injury time.
The win lifted Shabab 11 places up to the seventh position on the standings with 13 points. The team still has 4 delayed encounter to play. On the other hand, Wehdah remains sixth with the same number of points, but with a two-goal difference.
At Prince Saud Bin Jalawi Sports City Stadium in Al-Khobar, Al-Qadisiyah shared two goals with its guest and league leader Al-Ittihad.
Ittihad striker Naif Hazzazi put his team in the lead after only three minutes before Qadisiyah's Nigerian striker, John Jampo, leveled the score five minutes before the break.
The result marked the third consecutive draw for Ittihad, which has lost no points during the current competition. However, Ittihad remains atop the standings with 24 points while Qadisiyah slipped to the 11 place with 11 points and a match in hand.
In another encounter, Al-Ta'awon played a goalless draw with its guest Al-Fateh at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Buraidah.
Ta'awon is now ninth with 12 points while Fateh, with two matches in hand, is 13th with seven points.
On Saturday, Al-Faisali will host Al-Ahli at Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Sports City Stadium in Al
