Private sector supports fight vs. commercial fraud
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 17 - 10 - 2010

JEDDAH: The Kingdom's private sector expressed its solid support for the government's fight against commercial fraud as reflected at the conclusion of the “2nd Arab Consumer and Brand Protection Forum” for the protection of consumers from commercial fraud and counterfeit, as well as the protection of intellectual properties rights, and its accompanying exhibition, the “1st Arab Forum for Consumer's Awareness on Genuine Products”. A number of selected private sector companies participated in the forum, including Arabian Bemco Contracting Company.
Representative of Bemco said: “Bemco is proud and satisfied of the vital role that it has played over the last decades, as well as its contribution to the establishment of infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. Such role has imposed a national duty and commitment towards maintaining and securing these national achievements to preserve them in the best possible way that befit the position of Saudi Arabia in the region in particular and the world in general.”
He added: “Our national duty is reflected in respecting and complying to all applicable Saudi laws, as well as our positive and effective response to our homeland calls at any time and any place. Based on our sense of duty towards the consumers, Arabian Bemco supported Saudi Customs in its efforts to protect consumers from commercial fraud and counterfeit, and the protection of intellectual property rights.”
Arabian Bemco said its success in execution of different types of projects, and manufacturing of various products through its affiliates, is mainly based on its full commitment to the highest standards and specifications which would ensure highest level of quality, and this in itself is the epitome of anti-commercial fraud, as commercial fraudsters do not comply to international standards and specifications, to the contrary, they always work on destroying and violating of these standards.”
Arabian Bemco urges the private sector to support the efforts of all concerned governmental bodies to fight commercial fraud in all of its forms, levels and to protect intellectual property in order to protect the consumers.
