Published in The Saudi Gazette on 25 - 09 - 2010

In a unique experience, KIA organized recently an exciting journey all the way from Seoul to Moscow in the all new KIA Sportage carried out by 13 professional drivers.
The exciting journey of 12,000km aimed to raise the awareness of the launch of the new KIA Sportage in Russian market, which was displayed at the Moscow international Motor Salon on Aug.25-Sept. 5, 2010.
Kia Motors Russia hosted the program for a group of prominent travel bloggers and their video crew. Three professional drivers with previous experience on the route accompanied the team and took part in the adventurous route between Seoul and Moscow. “We chose this route because of the exotic locations from Asia through to Russia,” said Tak-Uk Im, president of Kia Motors Russia. “The all-new Sportage SUV have faced the long challenge providing great comfort for the team, and turned heads along the route for its great design.”
The team was riding in a fleet of three Sportage EX (DSL 2.0) vehicles with added fog lights and roof storage boxes. No other changes have been made to the vehicles in preparation for the two and half week journey. The team planned to drive a minimum of 600 kilometers a day and they left two to three hours for filming each day.
“This trip have really brought awareness to the quality and durability of Kia products,” said Andrey Matveev, head of PR, Kia Motors Russia. “By the time we launch Kia Sportage in Russia, we definitely have a big confidence that this will generate a lot of interest from those who are looking at a quality SUV for their next car purchase.”
The Russian market has seen dramatic growth and marked a 107.5 percent sales growth rate in the first half of 2010.
Kia Motors Corporation was founded in 1944 and is Korea's oldest manufacturer of motor vehicles.
As part of the Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group, Kia aims to become one of the world's premier automotive brands.
Over 1.5 million vehicles a year are produced in 13 manufacturing and assembly operations in eight countries which are then sold and serviced through a network of distributors and dealers covering 172 countries.
