The Supreme Judiciary Council is studying new regulations concerning the manner in which judges are selected to their positions. According to the draft proposals, the Supreme Judiciary Council is tasked with the appointment of judges for general, commercial, punitive and labor courts. The proposal also defines the specialist courts as first grade courts, circuit and appeal courts. A nomination to serve at the specialist courts is to be made if a person is interested in the position. Priority will be given to experience, training, and research conducted by candidates.
