As per the directives of Emir of Asir Prince Faisal Bin Kahled Bin Abdul Aziz, Major General Abdul Wahid Al-Thebaiti made a helicopter tour to view areas affected by heavy rains that lashed the region Monday. Gen. Al-Thebaiti, who, inspected Abha, Khamis Mushayt, Ahad Rufaifdah, Sarat Obed governorates and Al-Harja, said some roads connecting towns and villages were swept away by the floods and crews will repair them as quickly as possible. He said Civil Defense teams are on full alert to deal with emergencies and added that teams have rescued several citizens. He said the Civil Defense is coordinating with the region's Meteorology and Environment Protection Department to prepare for and prevent emergencies. Meanwhile, as rain fell for the second consecutive day in Asir, Najran and Jizan, Civil Defense teams, which are fully mobilized, combed the valleys in a search for missing citizens. Civil Defense officials called on sea picnickers and fishermen to remain indoors because of the unpredictable weather. It also ordered fishermen in Farsan Island to not to go fishing.
