As part of its social responsibilities, Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) announced that it has officially sponsored a number of summer festivals in different regions around the Kingdom. The company said Buraida Summer Festival, which kicked off on Wednesday, will be among sponsorship plans during this summer. Buraida Summer Festival is one of the famous activities in Qassim region that attracts many tourists and visitors to see the historical side of the Kingdom and its progress. Humoud Al-Ghobaini, vice president of Corporate Communication and Public Relations, said Mobily sponsorships in this year's summer festivals varies between entertainments, shopping, sports and social activates. He said the private sector should play a major role to support the local and the national tourism by being involved in different activities. “In the last two years, Mobily was a major sponsor of many different summer festivals as we believe that sponsoring such festivals is a national duty,” he added. Last Saturday, Mobily signed a three-year contract to sponsor Al-Ahsa Summer Festival during the official opening ceremony that was patronized by Al-Ahsa Governor Prince Bader Bin Mohammed Bin Jalawi. Mobily also sponsored Al-Ahsa summer feast in 2009, playing a significant role to cover the region with its new WiMax which gave visitors the options to enjoy the best wireless internet experience beside the huge HSPA coverage in the entire region.
