Tamer to meet Brothers in final

XI beat Hyderabad Green-XI by 48 runs and Tamer won by 74 runs over Natco Saudi Arabia in the semifinal matches of the JCA Division I Championship for ACE Travel Cup.
This event which is organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA) is sponsored by the ACE Travels & Tour.
The highlights of these matches included a sterling batting performance by Syed Mohammad Afroz of Tamer who scored a magnificent knock of 163 runs off just 58 balls and a match-saving 102 runs in 50 deliveries by Syed Waheeduddin Irfan of Brothers-XI. Tamer will play Brothers-XI in the final Friday. Natco's decision to put its rival into bat was proved wrong as Tamer made 258-4 in the allotted 20 overs. The dashing opening batsman Syed Mohammad Afroz who had scored two centuries in earlier made 163. He has accumulated a 706 runs in this tournament. Zainal contributed 31, Imran 28 and skipper Anwar Khan 21. Ashiq Ali took 2-40 while Ali and Niaz claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Natco could manage 184-6. Athar Ali made 55, Hussain Abbasi 38, Ashiq Ali 31 and Ali 27. Fast bowler Ali took 2 wickets while Mubashir, Amjad Sarfaraz got one each.
After opting to bat first Brothers-XI suffered a major jolt early as their top order batsmen fell victim to the slow seam bowling of skipper Abdullah Omar who took the top 3 wickets in his spell of 4 overs. However, wicketkeeper-batsman Syed Waheeduddin Irfan produced a match-saving 102 despite a muscle pull. His marvelous innings helped his team reach 203-7. Others who contributed runs were Abu Hassan 18, Shameem Ahmed 15, Shahid Ahmed 14 and Junaid 12. Omar Abdullah claimed 3-39 and Majid 2-27.
In reply, Hyderabad Green-XI, which is known for chasing runs, flopped in this match as it was bowled out for 155 in 18 overs. Ali made 57, Majid 21, Shakeel 21, Shaban 16 and Bilal 13. Left-arm spinner Shameem Ahmed and fast bowler Abu Hassan took 3 wickets each while Moin and Rayeesuddin claimed one each.
