Police are investigating claims from a woman in Dammam that her son, his son-in-law and the latter's brother attempted to run her over and kill her. The incident is alleged to have occurred on Tuesday outside a shopping mall in Dammam, when, according to the woman, she was exiting a shop and was suddenly confronted by the car driven by her son with the other two accused as passengers. “Their GMC missed me and instead hit the shopping cart I was pushing. Then the car turned round but by then I had run to the sidewalk,” the woman said. “When people came out of the shop to see what was happening, my son drove off.” The woman said she dislocated her left shoulder and received bruising to her hand in the incident, immediately after which she lodged a report with police in the north of the city. The woman said her son had threatened her “dozens of times” on previous occasions. “I made a complaint against him and his brothers accusing them of ‘uqouq' (disobedience) and they were detained,” she said. Police said that the son had been taken into custody and that he was currently under investigation by the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution.
