Nestor Sa?osa's 289 scratch in the last game cemented Shawly Royal Strikers' conquest of Lance & 3rdy while Cherry Heredia's accelerating show for Gulf Oil put down Pins 4 Life in the 8th week of the Nada Dairy-supported Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group Friday Morning Bowling League 9th conference at the Bowling City here.
Having Shawly in control of the first two games at running total of 2,341-2,189, wherein Luis Pacobas and Ruel Perez were top contenders for Bowler of the Week honor, Sa?osa startled teammates as he stole the scene with string of strikes from frames 2 to 10 sending leaguers into thunderous uproar as he posted a hi-scratch to clinch the Nada Dairy BOW accolade at a handicapped series of 706 from scratch of 658 built from 179, 190 and 289. Aside from Pacobas and Perez who respectively shared 653 and 657, Sa?osa also got most needed help from Edison Arena (611), Sally Sa?osa (565) and TC Arnel Bautista to have Shawly go home with 20 points on 3,617-3,361 settlement. Ladio Gonzales and TC manager Evelyn Santoc tried shielding Lance & 3rdy with 620 and 592 but were not able to escape empty basket.
Heredia proved her worth to Gulf Oil team with her ascending games of 190, 198 and 211 that plumed her of Nada Dairy female Bowler of the week honor on handicapped series of 599. Such performance made Heredia instrumental for Gulf Oil's success over Pins 4 Life. The later actually took Game 1 on triangular offense of Rey Beltran, Vic Bantay and Archie Alcantara, but Heredia's notable games spirited teammates for more efforts. With team captain Marlon Heredia blasting 247 in Game 2 and Johnny Macalintal detonating 224 in Game 3 Gulf Oil toppled the battle at 13-7 (3,314-3,267) on the help of Rolly Vistal, Jett Santos and Paolo Allego.
Ric Reformado enlivened Lance & 3rdy with his Nada Dairy Bowler of the week honor-winning debut of 753 that led to their 18-2 success in the 9th week of the tournament which also featured the superlative performance of Malou Gime who, with 658 hdcp series, guided Genesis to a 16-4 triumph over Thunderstrikers. Stalwart Reformado strengthened Lance & 3rdy with scratch of 729 on games of 238, 222 and 269. Such stupendous kegling boosted Evelyn Santoc, Joey Calapatia, Ed Cordova, Ed Tuico and Tommy de Castro to superbly back up Reformado that gave Lance & 3rdy retaliatory victory signed at 3,466-3,333. Eva Garcia defended Pins 4 Life with 617.
Gime's leadership also recorded a retaliatory win for Genesis as the Ernie Geslani captained squad suffered 1157-1137 upset when Larry Domingo exploded a 227 opener for Thundestrikers. But with two unyielding blows of 1,208-1,091 and 1,172-1,125 worked on by Gime, Zaldy Bacero, Arnold Biblanias, Geslani, Sean Balingasa and Eugen Delfin, Genesis team won the match on final submission of 3,517-3,373. Gime topped Genesis board and emerged Nada Dairy Bowler of the Week on games of 231, 228 and 199 while Bacero shared best with 642.
Domingo and Ed Sardi?s defended Thunderstrikers with 604 and 601. Shawly Royal Strikers with 3617 and Genesis with 3517 are City Restaurant teams of the week on these two sessions. __
