ICC, Kanoo, Hijaz, ACE in semis

XI, Barracuda ICC and ACE Travels beat their opponents Otex, Pak Young, Sigma Paints Osfan and NCB respectively to move into the semifinals of the Kanoo Premier Cup Tournament, which is sponsored by the Kanoo Group of companies and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
The highlights of the quarterfinals were ACE Travel's Akramullah Khan's whirlwind 144 not out, ICC's Uzair unbeaten knock of 102, a match-winning unbeaten 102 by Mohammad Rabi Zubair of Kanoo, 4-29 by Irfan Qureshi of ICC, 4-26 by Nayyar of ACE and 4-17 by Shoukath of Kanoo.
ACE Travel piled up 263-2 in 20 overs against NCB as skipper Akramullah Khan hit 144 not out in 59 balls. He also set a record 158-runs opening wicket partnership with Saleem (68). Omar made a brisk 24. Hashim Khan and Tariq took one wicket each. In reply, NCB slumped to 125-9 in 14.1 overs as ACE's left-arm fast bowler Nayyar took 4-26. Farruq, Ishtiaq, Mukhtar and Omer claimed one wicket each.
Pak Young, batting first, scored 180-9 in 20 overs against Hijaz-XI. Goshi topscored with 80 and he was followed by Shakeel 53, Rafiq 14, Hassan 13 and Arshad Khan 12,. Left-arm spinner Faheem took 3 wickets and Athar Abdul Quddus and Naveed had claimed 2 each. Hijaz-XI reached the target (181-7) in 19.4 overs. Though the top order failed the lower order batsmen Afroz 35, Wajid 32, Athar Abdul Quddus 26, Naveed 20 and Faheem 20 took the team to victory. Shakeel Ahmed took 2 wickets while Goshi got one.
Kanoo made 203-6 in 18 overs against Otex. opener Mohammad Rabi Zubair made an unbeaten 102 runs off 43 balls. Arshad scored 27, Sami Khan 21, Najam Uddin 11 and Shoukath 12. Javed and Asif took 2 wickets each while Akram and Shahbaz claimed one each. Otex was all out for 92 in 10 overs. Talib made 24, Ali 23 and Amjad 15. Fast bowler Shoukath took 4-17, Majid Sheikh claimed 3 and Kamran Khan grabbed 2 while Najam Uddin took one.
Barracuda ICC made 217-7 in 20 overs against Sigma Paints Osfan-XI. Uzair made an unbeaten 102 in 54 balls. Kaleem hit 27, Zameer 16, Sher Uddin 14, Faraz 14 and Aslam Guddu 18. Irshad, Tanveer and Adnan took 2 wickets each while Riyaz Rana got one. Sigma Paints Osfan-XI was all out for 106 in 11 overs through Jamsheed 53, Adnan Butt 16, Riyaz Rana 10. Skipper Irfan Qureshi took 4-29 while Faraz claimed 2 and Shakeel one. __
