Police arrested two persons Saturday accused of multiple handbag thefts in the capital's shopping areas. The pair reportedly snatched handbags from the shoulders of women as they passed by in their car before speeding off. When stopped after a pursuit involving police patrols, the vehicle was found to contain large numbers of stolen handbags and a bottle of alcohol. Investigators are trying to establish the suspects' connection to a series of unresolved similar incidents in the capital.
