Jayson Werth homered in his first three at-bats and tied a Philadelphia Phillies record with eight RBIs in a 10-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in Major League Baseball Interleague play Friday. Werth had a chance to tie the major league record of four homers in a game, but he fouled out to first base in the seventh inning. He became the 18th Phillies player to record three homers in a game and the first since 2006. The eight RBIs tied a franchise record held by four players, most recently accomplished by Mike Schmidt in 1976. The Giants had a baserunner aboard in every inning without managing a run. Padres 6, Mariners 4: In Seattle, Brian Giles had four hits to lead San Diego over Seattle. Tadahito Iguchi homered for the Padres. Twins 4, Rockies 2: In Denver, Nick Blackburn pitched seven strong innings to steer Minnesota past Colorado.
