Ed Sardi?a unleashed his most deadly assault to extricate by 24 pins in Game 1 of the two-game finals to be the male champion while Edna Domingo passed through humpy trek before she clutched the crown on a solid blow in the women's end game of the Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group quest for the Bowlers of March 2010 at the Bowling City here.
Topping Class A with 845 (233, 234, 184, 194) Sardi?a entertained Rudy Punzalan with 260 and 211 in their two-game semifinals. Veteran Punzalan, who beat Ed Cordova and Jun Pilipi?a, could only total 365 and succumbed to 471 of Sardi?a. Class B top qualifier Engineer Ernie Geslani (193, 223) was contained by challenger Jack Jarin (220, 222) in a 442-426 decision. Jarin was franchised to face Geslani by his 262 which outlasted Pip R. Plans' 251 on the play off. Nards Hassan (192, 228) showed superiority over Johnny Macalintal (212, 198) at 420-410 verdict. Macalintal scored 239 to easily cross the playoff over competitor Jay Bengco (183). Class D top qualifier Fred Cuenca (186, 189) did not let Rudy Carillo (149, 180) recover and finished off their match at 375-329.
In the four-bowler race finals, the finalists entertained the audience with classic games. Though Sardi?a showed dominance at 238, Jarin, Cuenca and Hassan stayed near with 214, 213 and 202 respectively in Game 1. Jarin traded marks with Sardi?a but was not able to hold on when the latter broke away and completed spectators amusement with 219 to take home the March title on 457 total. Jarin settled second with 400, Hassan placed third with 384 and Cuenca landed fourth with 378.
Domingo's sojourn to the top started from rank 8 on an insipid 174 start looking up to Aisah Silabay's early leadership of 209. Vangie Lim paced second with 183, Jessica Fuentes 181, Cheryl Tibay 178, Evelyn Santoc 178, Minda Guevarra 177 and Nurissa Ramos 176. Bettering her hits Domingo climbed to third spot with 369 on her 195 blitz though Silabay continues to lead with 421 and Guevarra barring with 373. Fatima Jintarat and Sally Sa?osa are close at 365 and 361 respectively.
A 230 blast of Malou Gime slid Domingo to fourth place (558). Gime momentarily tailed Silabay (613), with 569, Guevarra keep holding with 562 and Evelyn still on trail with 556. The last game then decided it all when Domingo strung strikes and flashed a 250 to add this FEDBG March championship onto her name. Silabay embraced second position with 790, Gime cuddled third with 760 and Fatima survived last place with 739. Evelyn Santoc was one-pin shy (738) of Jintarat. Championship for April 2010 shall be on March 5.
