Women protesters remove the barricade out near the Malacanang presidential palace in Manila Friday to kick off the commemoration of International Women's Day on March 8. The month-long campaign by the militant women's organization Gabriela focuses on alleged political repression, human rights violations and violence against women by the government of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
