five girls from various levels of the school education system have qualified as “Preachers for the Future”, in the first graduating group from a three-month course organized by Dar Al-Nadwa of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth. The program, Al-Hayat Arabic daily reported on Friday, was called “Preaching to Live”, and held its recent graduation ceremony at WAMY's head office in Riyadh. The purpose of the program, according to Juhair Al-Humaid who first produced the idea, is to “produce female preachers for the future who are concerned with the call to Islam and to spread it in a proper way, and relate our ethics and behavior to the Qur'an.” Nawal Al-Ali, a social advisor, said that the girls would “become in the future preachers of the call to Allah and bring up future generations, as the purpose of the project is to promote interest in the Islamic Shariah sciences and promote them among Muslims, and teach Muslim girls preaching work in an academic and insightful way.” “The project gives the student the necessary Islamic culture foundation to form the personality of Muslim girls and qualify them for structured scientific research in the hope that they will take part in strengthening the family and Muslim society and preserve its identity,” Al-Ali said. He added that further courses were planned for girls to “acquire knowledge and qualifications to perform the duty of the call to Islam”, and that the field would be opened for more girls.
