ACC clinches Al-Harazi Cup

Ahmed Cricket Club (ACC), sponsored by Ali Saeed Al-Ghamdi General Contracting Est., won the Al-Harazi JCA Division-II Championship by beating Deccan Knights by 38 runs in the final here at JCA Complex at Usfan.
The championship, which sponsored by Al-Harazi Est. and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association also saw, Butt Sports Cricket Club defeating National Commercial Bank (NCB) by 96 runs to grab the third position.
At JCA ground 2 ACC skipper Zahid Khan won the toss and elected to bat first. ACC made 210-5 against Deccan Knights in the allotted 20 overs. Inform opening batsmen Syed Kaleem and Mazhar started their innings well.
Mazhar hit a quickfire 28 off just 12 balls. Kaleem, at other end, built his innings by selecting the balls on its merit. With Riaz, he accelerated the score. Kaleem made a well deserved 63 off 36 balls.
Aleem made 12 while Riaz remained unbeaten on 50. Ghouse 2-39 and Jawad 1-36 were thw wicket-takers for Deccan Knights.
In reply, Deccan Knights's run-getting machine Muhammad Umar Swadi was puzzled by rival skipper Zahid who opted for experienced spinner Haroon Abdullah to open the attack.
Umar scored 5 runs in the first over but lost his wicket to fast bowler Akbar. Inayath made 22 while Jawad 33 and Javed 41 brought some stability to the Deccan Knights batting. But wickets were falling at regular intervals. Later Shahid 28 and Firdous 11 tried to prop up the score. However, ACC restricted Deccan Knights to 172-8 in 20 overs. Skipper Zahid Khan claimed 3-36 and Hyder 2-20. Haroon, Akbar and Jaleel took one wicket each.
At JCA ground 1, Butt Sports scored 245-7 in the allotted 20 overs against NCB. After opener Tariq Butt was out for 4 Imran Butt made 47. Amjad Ali batted well for 65. Imran Butt made 34, Zahid 25, Amjad Siddiqui 22 and Junaid Butt 10 not out.
Abid and Ayub took 2 wickets each while Mehmood, Javed and Omer got one each.
In reply NCB slumped to 159-8 wickets in 20 overs. Abid 45, Omer 40, Muzammail 19 and Tabrez 19 were the main scorers.
Zahid claimed 3-8 and Abid 2-25. Shoaib, Noman and Junaid got one wicket each.
JCA patron Tariq Al-Maeena was the chief guest during the prize distribution function. Al-Harazi Est. owner Abdul Hadi Al-Harazi, Mohammad Ashraf Gulam Chowdry, GM, Waqas Khan, Assistant Sales Manager, Al Harazi Est., ACC team sponsor Ali Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Eng. Yousuf Badawi and JCA Chairman Dr. Faiz Al-Abideen also graced the ceremony.
Majeedul Hassan, General Secretary of JCA thanked the sponsors, participating teams, volunteers and the executive committee for their cooperation. Tariq Al Maeena appreciated the efforts of the JCA committee.
