Police in Jeddah arrested on Saturday two persons accused of stealing money from a friend and then setting fire to his apartment to hide evidence of the crime. Investigators soon discovered that fire was an act of arson and the owner of the property revealed that he kept on the premises 45,000 riyals of which no trace was found once the fire had been extinguished. When police later had their suspicions aroused by a man of modest income spending sizeable quantities of cash in the same district a connection was made with the missing sum, and a lack of a forced entry to the premises suggested that someone involved in the act had access to the building. Two persons are being held for questioning.
