A 16-month old child is in a “relatively stable” condition in hospital in Al-Mubarraz after being savagely attacked by a wild dog. According to the father of the infant girl, the dog dragged her from in front of their house in the Abu Sahbal District and tore at her clothes and bit her before she was rescued by neighbors. King Fahd Hospital said that the girl suffered head wounds requiring surgery. Residents of Abu Shahbal say they have made repeated complaints about the presence of wild and dangerous dogs in the area to no avail, while the regional head of Health Affairs appealed to authorities to “rid Abu Sahbal of the dogs that continually invade the area looking for food, as they are a great danger to people and the environment.”
