Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Minerals for Petroleum Affairs, inaugurated here Sunday the Second Saudi Oil and Gas 2010 exhibition. The business-to-business networking trade event is expected to attract around 6,500 visitors. Prince Abdulaziz took a round of the exhibition and exchanged pleasantries with national and international representatives of oil and gas companies participating in the event. The international participating countries include China, Germany, the United Kingdom, India, Malaysia, Turkey, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE and Iran. About 70 exhibitors have showcased their products including latest innovation technologies, machineries, equipment and from services industry. Mohammed Al-Hussaini, Deputy General Manager, Riyadh Exhibitions Company Ltd., the organizer of the event, said over 6,500 trade visitors are expected during the four-day event that also includes workshops and conference. He said Saudi Oil and Gas 2010 offers an excellent platform for key industry players to leverage Saudi Arabia's burgeoning oil production and consumption requirements within the next 10 years. According to information available in the expo, Saudi Arabia has been engaged in an extensive investment program that includes investments of $90 billion for petrochemical projects and an equal amount for projects in power generation. About $50 billion will be invested for natural gas-related projects. All this investment is done to meet the growing demand of oil and gas in the international market.
