Blue and Green overall champions

Blue House and Green House emerged overall champions in their respective sections when the annual sports meet for the boys of the International Indian School, Jeddah, concluded here recently.
Stamping their supremacy in athletics and games Blue House ruled the roost in the IX-XII section by amassing a whopping 233 points. Red House (171) clinched the second position, edging Green House by just one point (170).
Green House which dominated the athletics with 127 points claimed the overall honors with a grand total of 147 points in the VI-VIII section.
The annual sports festival was inaugurated by Sayeed Ahmed Baba, Consul General of India. After Syed Mahmood recited verses from Holy Qur'an, Principal Syed Masood Ahmed delivered the welcome address. Shakeel Ahmed, Consul (Education) and School Observer, Managing Committee Chairman Salah Karadan and other Managing Committee Members also graced the occasion.
After Chief Guest Baba hoisted the flag, the athletes paraded for a colorful march past and the chief guest took the salute.
Nidhal Salah, Sports Secretary of the IISJ, administered the oath to the participants.
Naseef Hameed of Blue House won the individual championship in athletics by collecting 25 points. Hameed won this prestigious award in the Under-19 category by exhibiting a rare combination of talent in jump and throw events. The XI B2 student Hameed won first position in javelin throw, discus throw and triple jump and stood second in long jump.
The individual championship in the Under-16 section was shared by Mohammed Hamza and Suhail Ahmed who collected 26 points each. While Hamza proved his prowess in the middle distance events by winning 400, 800 and 1500 meters Ahmed dominated the jump events. He won long jump, high jump and triple jump. He also won second place in 400 meters. Hamza too claimed a second position (long jump) to tie for the individual title.
The individual crown in the Uner-14 years went to Akash Kumar who won 100m and long jump and stood second in 200m. Sprinter Nuwais Akbar, who claimed a double by winning 100 and 200 meters, emerged the champion in his Under-12 category.

IX-XII: 1. Blue House 233 points, 2. Red House 171, Green House 170, 4. Yellow House 153.
VI-VIII: 1. Green House 147.

IX-XII: 1. Blue House 59, 2. Red House 57, 3. Yellow House 28, 4. Green House 21.
VI-VIII: 1. Red House 20.
Athletics:

Under-19: Naseef Hameed (Blue House, 25 points).
Under-16: Mohammed Hamza (Green House, 26) and Suhail Ahmed (26).
Under-14: Akash Kumar (Yellow House, 19).
Under-12: Nuwais Akbar (Yellow House 12).
