KSA growth remarkable: Naif
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 14 - 12 - 2009

The Kingdom has proved its established and firm stance on conflicting trends in the world, thanks to the wise leadership and the support of the people for the country's leadership, Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, said here Sunday.
Speaking at a gala party he organized to celebrate the return of Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz to the Kingdom after treatment abroad, Prince Naif said the Kingdom was witnessing remarkable economic growth as well as development in all areas.
“During the past two years, all world leaders came here to consult with the leadership of the Kingdom and establish relations in all fields on the basis of common interests and mutual respect,” Prince Naif said.
During this prosperous era, dozens of universities and institutes have been opened and tens of thousands of students have been sent to prestigious universities in the world from which they learn technology and modern science. This is available to every Saudi citizen, he said.
Welcoming home Crown Prince Sultan, Prince Naif also mentioned Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Riyadh Region, “who had the honor to accompany the Crown Prince during the period of his treatment.”
“We thank Allah Almighty that we see the Crown Prince here along with his brother the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud,” Prince Naif said.
He also welcomed King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain and the accompanying delegation. He also welcomed Lebanese Prime Minister Sa'ad Al-Hariri, Grand Mufti of the Kingdom and Chairman of the Board of Senior Ulema Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Abdullah Aal Al-Sheikh, and other officials and citizens from all regions of the Kingdom. Prince Naif said late King Abdul Aziz had established this state based on firm foundations of faith and in accordance with the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah (Prophet's Traditions) which are the constitution of this country. “Late King Abdul Aziz united the nation that will continue raising the banner of Islam “There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah,” promoting virtue and preventing vice. This approach was pursued by the sons of late King Abdul Aziz, the kings of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, late King Saud, late King Faisal, late King Khalid and late King Fahd. Today, this approach is followed by the leader of the nation, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz along with the Crown Prince to lead this country by adhering to the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah which are the constitution of the country,” he said.
Prince Naif said the Kingdom has been targeted for its adherence to Islam as a belief, approach and constitution. “Thanks to the wise leadership, the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince, your security men have been able to defeat and thwart all actions which are contrary to Islam,” he said.
The perpetrators claimed Islam, he said, but they have nothing to do with Islam. “Unfortunately, most of them have been from the young people of this homeland, who have been deceived by perpetrators along with others who have helped them in thought and fund-raising. Your security forces have foiled more than 200 attempts. All those who have perpetrated these actions have been under arrest and they are at religious judiciary to sentence them. They can be called deviants from religion,” he said.
Referring to infiltration from the Yemeni border, Prince Naif said “some individuals have tried to attack the Kingdom's borders, but there are armed forces in land, sea and air sectors who can defeat anyone thinking of attacking even one inch of the territory of the Kingdom.”
Following Prince Naif's speech, the Saudi Ardha (folklore dance) was performed to celebrate the return home of the Crown Prince who also participated in it.
