Zultec Cup: Bangladesh School Scores Win

A magnificent century by Montaser powered Bangladesh International School (BDIS) to victory over Middle East International School (MEIS) in the ongoing Zultec Cup Inter-School Cricket Tournament.
The tournament is sponsored by Zultec and matches are played every Thursday.
Taking first strike the BDIS boys got off to a rollicking start as their openers Montaser and Opu Sydul hammered the MEIS bowlers to all parts of the ground. Opu made a fine 48 runs, but Montaser continued his stroke-making as he clubbed 15 fours and 1 six in his innings of 105 runs.
Later, Iman made a quickfire 43 to take the team to 226-2 in the allotted 20 overs.
The MEIS boys started their chase disastrously by losing the last two wickets cheaply. M. Ibrahim (36), Sohaib (30) and Talal (20) tried to salvage the situation but MEIS could make only 179 in the 20 overs. For BDIS Montaser completed his all-round display by taking 3 wickets.
In another match, Pakistan International School Urdu section (PISU) overwhelmed Pakistan International School English section (PISE) by 49 runs to claim a semifinal spot in the Under-19 group.
Taking first strike, the PISU boys compiled a big score of 212-1 in the 20 overs. Their openers Abdul Qader and Obaidullah gave their team a rousing start. Qader made 96 while Obaidullah compiled a brisk 94.
The PISE boys chasing a big total lost their opener Osman cheaply but their captain Taimur Tarek batted gallantly to score 72. He got good support from Salman (25), the other batsmen did not offer any resistance and the whole team folded for 166. For PISU Abdul Salam bowled brilliantly to take 6 wickets.
In the Under-15 age group, Pakistan International School Urdu (PISU) easily defeated Sri Lankan International School (SLIS) by 30 runs.
Batting first the PISU batsmen made 152 in the 20 overs. Saleem Afzal batted aggressively 66 runs which was decorated with 9 fours. Abdul Qadir (32) gave him good support. For SLIS, Burhan Nizar took 3 wickets while Inshiraf, Akram Nizar and Haziq Khan took two wickets each.
In reply, SLIS boys found it hard to score. Only Rakita Mendis (27) and Jeremy Dlima (20) were the notable scorers. For PISU Barkat took 3 wickets while Sanaullah, Waqar and Abdul Waheed took two wickets each. __
