Swadi belts unbeaten 202, sets record in JCA

Mohammad Umar Swadi's fine all-round show – an unbeaten double ton (202) in 72 balls and 3-43 enabled his team Deccan Knights to crush Ghudaid-XI by 98 runs in the third week match of the Division-II championship which is sponsored by Al-Harazi Trading & Contracting Est. and organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
In other matches, Shaad's fine knock of 95 helped MMAS Cricket Club taste victory against BUPA Cricketers, Butt Sports gained a 39-run win against KAIA and National Commercial Bank (NCB) beat Saudia City by 8 wickets.
Opting to bat first, Deccan Knights piled up 264-3 in the allotted 18 overs. Swadi's unbeaten 202 with 31 boundaries and 8 sixes broke the JCA's last season record of 201 by Nadeem of ICC. He also set a new record for the first wicket (235) with his opening partner Syed Meer (29). Shahid contributed 11. Akmal and Nawaz took one wicket each for Ghudaid. In reply Ghudaid-XI made 166-7 in 18 overs through Babar 55, Aleem 36, Akmal 20 and Shafi 12. Medium pacer Syed Irfan took 3-39, Umar Swadi 3-43 and Jawad 1-25.
In the second match of the day, the MMAS cricketers scored 178-4 BUPA-XI. Shaad topscored with 95. He was followed by Mussawir 35 and Atif Zaman 11. Yahiya took 2-30, Riaz 1-14, Haris 1-30. BUPA, in reply, could reach 171-4 and lost the match by 7 runs. Moiz made 39, Riaz 37 and Imranullah 15. Faizan claimed 1-26, Mussawir 1-24 and Imran 1-27.
In the third match, Butt Sports, batting first, made 209-4 . Its main scorers were Zeeshan Butt 56, Irfan Butt 43, Imran Butt 40, Amjad 32 and Tariq Butt 12 not out. For KAIA M.Neelam took 2-6 and M.Rimsam 2-35. KAIA, in reply, was all out for 170. Its main contributors were Shoaib Khan 25, Mufeez 23, Abrar 22, Nufeem 16, Zabi 15 and Rimsam 13. Atif got 2-14, Adnan 2-26, Javed Butt 2-36 and Tariq Butt 1-27. Butt-XI won the match by 39 runs.
In the last match of the day, Saudia City, batting first, made 126-9 in 18 overs. Ishtiaq 25, Jaweed 16, Saad 14 and Bilal 12 were the main scorers. Amanullah took 3-18, Munawar 2-17, Imran 1-11 and Asif 1-15. NCB reached 127-2 in 14.3 overs. Skipper Munawar remained unbeaten on 53. Majeed made 34, Tariq and Amir Malik scored 11 each. Ashfaque and Afzal took one wicket each. __
