Saudi representatives in the Gulf Clubs Championship, Al-Nasr and Al-Ittifaq, both shared points while playing at home against Sur of Oman and Qatar of Qatar respectively Monday. Al-Nasr drew with Sur 2-2 in their Group B match at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh. Khaled Al-Zaila'i opened the account for Al-Nasr in the 25th minute before Saleem Al-Sawod equalized for the visitors in the 39th minute. Saad Al-Harthi put Nasr one up in the 55th minute, but Oman fought back and succeeded in scoring the equalizer 10 minutes later through Maher Al-Oraimi. Al-Nasr now has four points after its win against Sur in the away match. Ittifaq also shared points with its Qatari guests after their Group C encounter at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam ended in a 1-1 draw. Moroccan midfielder Yousef Safri put Qatar ahead in the 22nd minute. The guests were about to pick all the three points, when Khalifa Ayil saved Al-Ittifaq the blushes with a goal from the spot moments before the final whistle. Three players were sent offs during the match. Al-Ittifaq's Mohammad Al-Shahrani and Younes Al-Manqari and Mohammad Omar of Qatar were the players to get their marching orders. Al-Ittifaq has one point after it lost its away match against Qatar 3-2. In another development, the Technical Committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation Monday penalized Al-Ahli and Al-Hilal teams after their fans fought at the end of their Sunday tie, which Hilal won 2-1. The teams have been fined SR20,000 each besides shifting one of their home matches into an away game. The committee also fined Al-Shabab keeper Waleed Abdullah SR6,000 besides suspending him for three matches for his behavior during Sunday's match against Al-Fath.
