ALJ and Solid North registered a double win in the ongoing FBA Basketball Tournament. Rosewood Corniche Hotel, Saudi Hi-Tech, Hanco Maintenance and Samir Group were the other teams which also scored in the last weekend games at the Saudi Hi-Tech compound here. Solid North of coach Art Oliva overpowered Dabarkads of Roy de la Cruz, 74-52, and Jeddah Kickers of Gilbert Banal, 94-80, while another strong team Toyota-ALJ of Jun Avelino and Benjo Cesar won two matches against Petro Rabigh of Ric Zaragoza and Rainer Panlilio, 88-80, and Sarco-Shoaiba of Willy Corpuz, John Villa and Vinod Kumar, 90-80. Rosewood Corniche Hotel of team coach Gilbert Borquin and manager Amro Hussein won over Strikers,85-71. Saudi Hi-Tech team of coach Mario de los Santos and Rudy Ruaya overwhelmed Kaki Aluminum of Henry Cayetano and Lito Espiritu in seesaw battle, 83-79. Hanco Maintenance of coach Jess Manlapaz scored against an equally strong team of Chris Contreras New Breed Alshaya, 89-80, while Jeddah Kickers failed again in another match against Samir Group of coach Gary Santos and George Feliciano in Open-C division, 94-62. This three-month tourney of FBA is supported by ABS-CBN TFC, Royal Brunei Airlines, Lapaz Batchoy, Lapaz Bakeshop and Grocery, BSX by Giordano Fashions, Ay Sarap Restaurant, The Manhattan Fish Market, Ruby Tuesday, Bison Energy Drink, Sky Freight Forwarders, Makati Products, American Garden, Gano Excel, Nivea & Dabur Products, Samir Group, Kizz-me Energy Drink, Dulux Paint, D'Jedd Carl Mobile Sound Mix, Sportsworld Tailoring and PESOS group. Due to a number of requests from Filipino basketball aficionados, FBA Commissioner Abel Chavenia announced a Friday Morning Tournament which is set to start as soon as the single division is completed. The 28th season of Filipino Basketball Association is being held every Thursday and Friday at the Saudi Hi-Tech Compound from 5:30 P.M. to 11:30 P.M. __
