Intelligent batting and bowling secured Kings XI Punjab a 66-run victory over Mumbai Indians in their Twenty20 Indian Premier League match here Friday. A crafty knock of 94 by Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara helped Punjab post a competitive total of 182 runs and then Australian fast bowler Brett Lee bowled figure of 4-0-9-1 to restrict Mumbai to 116-p. Sangakkara played 56 deliveries and hit 13 boundaries and one shot over the fence. He also shared a 73-run partnership for the second wicket with opener Karan Goel. Mumbai must have realized that money cannot buy you everything, for the most expensive IPL side lost its third straight game while Punjab secured its first win of the tournament. Harbhajan Singh explained his decision to field first saying his side “likes to chase.” Mumbai, however, lost six wickets between overs 9 and 15.
