Pak Young Cricket Club and Saudia City scored 37-run wins over their rivals Kanoo Cricketers and Al Lube Cricket team, respectively, in the 6th week action of Division-I Otex Cup.
The event is sponsored by the Otex Express Cargo Services Company and is organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA).
Pak Young team scored 188-4 in 18 overs and then bowled out Kanoo Cricketers for 151 runs. The Pak Young's win was made possible thanks to Imran Butt's century and Rafeeq's 5-17.
Electing to bat first Pak Young opener Imran Butt hit an unbeaten ton off 58 deliveries. His innings comprised 12 fours and two sixes. His opening partner was unlucky when he was caught off the bowling of Mansoor for 8. Shakeel and Irfan later contributed 24 runs each. Moid, Mansoor and Kamran picked up a wicket each for Kanoo.
Kanoo in reply started confidently with Junaid making 29 and Moid 22. Star batsman Sami Khan made 47. He was the first to fall to the medium-pace bowling of Rafeeq, who finished with magical figures of 5-17.
Ismail picked up two for 26, while Shakeel, Irfan and Arshad bagged a wicket each for Pak Young to secure the victory.
The second match saw Saudia City score 197-7 in 18 overs and then restrict Al Lube to 160-8 in its quota of overs.
Little master Moid made a well-deserved 53 while his opening partner Khalil hit 42. Akram added 19 and Ashfaque contributed 19 runs. Nadeem Nadwi grabbed three wickets while Amir and Riaz took two wickets each for Al Lube. In reply Al Lube could score only 160 for the loss of eight wickets. Arsalan 43, Riaz 42 and Iqbal 21 were the main contributors. Sham and Aslam took two wickets each for Saudia City. __
