World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) women's section has launched a campaign for the month of July entitled “Ease the summer heat” in order to help needy families with the payment of electricity bills and the purchase of air conditioners and other cooling devices. Dr. Huda Fatami, the supervisor of the program, said that the campaign will continue for the entire month with the aim of making life easier by reducing the summer heat for the needy segments of society, on the basis of the concept of social solidarity and altruism. Hala Naseer, the president of the WAMY women's section in Jeddah, said that WAMY tries to interest young people in working on a voluntary basis and becoming a part of the effort to build the nation. “The idea of the campaign is to serve the community and nation, and it is being implemented by a group of young men and women who decided to provide service to their community rather than to travel abroad to summer resorts and beaches, she said. A young volunteer Ma'z Bahdadah gave a workshop on the importance of volunteers and stressed that Saudi youth should be encouraged and given the opportunity to prove themselves and their abilities. “If given the chance, young Saudis can bring their enthusiasm and determination to volunteer work for the good of the entire community,” he said.
