Despite the high demand registered at furnished apartments and markets in Taif during the mid-semester vacation, recreation parks and centers of tourist attraction witnessed an unexpected drop in the number of visitors compared to the summer season. Most parks and recreation areas did not receive the usual large numbers of visitors expected during the holiday season forcing some to reduce entry fees to nominal amounts. – Okaz/SG The low turnout has been attributed by many to the short vacation of only one week only and a preference among holiday-goers for shopping. The governorate's shopping complexes, however, saw large numbers of visitors over the vacation period, particularly at bookshops and restaurants.
