MWL chief slams Israeli TV channel for reviling Jesus
By Ahmad Wahaj Al-Siddiqui
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 10 - 04 - 2009

Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Mohsin Al-Turki, Secretary General of the Muslim World League, has strongly condemned an attack on the personality of Jesus (peace be upon him) and his mother Mary made by Channel 10 of Israeli Television.
Talking to Saudi Gazette, Al-Turki said the impudent, malicious statement made against the Prophet of God and his mother Mary, will raise hatred and enmity among different factions and religions and shall destroy the peace of humanity.
Jesus is a messenger of God, and God chose his virgin mother Mary from among all the women of the world as she was a woman of truth. God said:
“And Mary, the daughter of ‘Imran who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into (the sleeve of her shirt or her garment) through Our Ruh (i.e. Gabriel), and she testified to the truth of the Words of her Lord. (Qur'an, 66:12)
Al-Turki said the Muslim World League has convened various conferences with the purpose of opening a dialogue between all religions to live in peace. Islam strongly advocates peace between all nations and encourages all people to live side by side in peace and tranquility.
To attain peace between all nations, King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, held a conference in Madrid attended by representatives of verious religious faiths. He emphasized the respect for all the messengers of God and reverence and honor to all the Heavenly Books sent by Allah to His Prophets.
Referring to the Islamic mission of peace for all communities of the world, Dr. Al-Turki quoted the Qur'an which says:
“Say (O Muslims) we believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and to Al-Asbat. And that which has been given to Moses and Jesus and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them and to Him we have submitted in Islam.” (Qur'an, 2:136)
Al-Turki said Israel's malicious statements against the most revered personalities deserve condemnation from all the world over.
The Muslim World League, he said, shall move the United Nations to pass a resolution declaring that anyone involved in casting aspersious on any of the Prophets or the Books sent to them be treated as a criminal and be prosecuted under international law.
