A intermittent rainfall kept residents here indoors during the weekend. The light to moderate rainfall that started Thursday evening continued throughout the night into Friday with thunderbolts. Many worshippers had to offer Friday prayers on the wet grounds because mosques were overcrowded. The day temperature on Friday fell to 13 degree Celsius with cold winds and murky sky. Many low-lying areas in the capital were clogged with rain waters. According to reports, a total 18 mm rainfall was recorded Thursday and Friday. The visibility was reduced to five kilometers. The good news is, the winter will now extend to a few more days, said Abdullah Al-Shehri, a resident. The temperature in the peak summer season rises to over 45 degree Celsius while in winter it dips to six or seven degree Celsius in the capital.
