The Presidency of Meteorology and Environment Protection (PME) has warned the public to not pay heed to “confusing” information based on unknown weather reports. The director of the presidency's Analysis and Forecast Administration, Hasan Merah, told Al-Watan daily that the PME was monitoring unofficial reports from unknown sources that have appeared on the Internet and in some local newspapers. Merah cited possible confusion caused by interference with PME reports, as well in information coming from some specialists. “The PME produces reports based on the scientific study of facts by experts using advanced technology approved by the World Meteorological Organization, of which the Kingdom is a member,” Merah said.
