KKUH Admin-Black champion

Black Team emerged champion of the King Khalid University Hospital (KKUH) basketball tournament here.
It was the first ever basketball tournament of the King Khalid University Hospital (KKUH) overseas workers. Initially intended as a trial event, it turned out to be a keenly-contested championship with the KKUH Admin-Black Team, under the leadership of coach Sagon Ballahothen, upsetting Canlapan Shooters-Yellow Team 69-47 in the final.
Canlapan Shooters-Yellow Team, of which Chito Dela Cruz was the coach and player, had dominated the elimination rounds. But it fell to the Black Team after three of its key players missed the grand final.
The KKUH-Admin Team, which led by 5 points at the end of the first quarter, increased it to 9 by the second and stretched it to 18 at the end of the third quarter. Though Canlapan Shooters rallied in the fourth quarter, the KKUH-Admin sealed the victory with a big margin of 22 points.
The Business Center (White Team) bagged the second runner up title by defeating Safid (Blue Team) 74-66. Lifting Business Center Team were Rolly Guevarra, the three-point king Ariel Ramos and his brothers Rafydel and Rafael.
The tournament was supported by the KKUH Administration with assistance from Gulf Medical Company, Endosoft System and NADEC.
Individual and team awards: Best coach – Sagon Ballaho, best team manager – Hashim Mammah, best team uniform – CSSD (Red Team), best sportmanship team – Wadi laban(Green Team), best sportsmanship player – Rey Sonsing, best player of the tournament – Reynell Bautista, most valuable player – Joji Gurrea, most improved player – Arnel Dapog, highest scorer – Rafydel Ramos, highest 3-pointers – Ariel Ramos, best defender – Sagon Ballaho, most popular player – Moises Sonija.
Mythical five: Best guard – Chito Dela Cruz , best guard – Ariel Ramos, best center – Fadel Calalagan, best forward – Jihad Tumangan, best forward - Nelson Buan.
Team awards:
