Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, the Consul General of India, on Sunday announced the members of the Executive Council of the Indo-Saudi Medical Forum (ISFM) for the period of April 2008 - March 2010. The ISMF, which functions under the patronage of the Consulate General of India, Jeddah, was launched by India's Minister for Human Resource Development, Shri Arjun Singh, on June 2nd, 2006. The ISMF aims to serve as a center for informal interaction among medical professionals of India and Saudi Arabia. “ISMF would provide a platform for the medical professionals of both countries to reinforce Indo-Saudi friendship by developing links between the two countries in the fields of health care, medicine, pharmaceuticals and allied fields,” the Indian Consulate General said in a press release.The new embers of the Executive Council of the ISMF are: 1) Dr Abdullah Mooppan -- President 2) Dr Ataat Khan ˆ Vice-President -1 3) Dr Sheshagiri ˆ Vice-President -2 4) Dr Muzammil Rahman ˆ General Secretary 5) Dr Khaleel Mohammed ˆ Joint Secretary-1 6) Dr Shameena ˆ Joint Secretary-2 7) Mr Alungal Mohammad ˆ Treasurer 8) Dr Syed Ahmeduddin ˆ Public Relations Officer 9) Dr Rakesh Kumar Singh ˆ Executive Member 10) Dr Hakim Mushtaq Ahmed - Executive Member 11) Dr Francis - Executive Member 12) Dr Binu Joseph ˆ Executive Member 13) Dr Mohammad Safarulla - Executive Member Besides the Executive Council, the Governing Body of the ISMF would have a Board of Advisors, comprising of senior Indian and Saudi doctors.
