THE unprecedented success in foiling attempts to smuggle into the country 1768 kg of hashish and three million Captogen pills in four separate incidents is the latest in the long list of achievements made by the Kingdom's security authorities. This provides conclusive evidence of the significant role being played by the security authorities in protecting society from the evils of immoral smugglers and in deterring them from trading in anything whatsoever merely for the sake of money, even if the fortunes they envisage are at the expense of the noble religious values and the principles of humankind. The saddening part is that among the gangsters of the four networks were residents which our country had welcomed in with open arms to earn an honorable living, and even more painful is the fact that among the gangs were Saudis deterred by nothing from engaging in that diabolical activity, divesting them of their sense of patriotism and belonging to their beloved country. They forget that the victims on which they prey are sons of this soil who may even include their own relations and next of kin. These corrupt people, whether Saudi or non-Saudi, would not have dared involve themselves in such activities without foreign parties supporting and providing them with contraband materials and sharing with them the profits of this evil trade. All of which provides tangible evidence that we are facing an organized crime operation targeting not only the people but the entire country, with possible relationships between drug barons and financers of terrorism as confirmed by several previous operations. To conclude, the fact that our country is being targeted means every member of the public must act the role of security man and watch for suspicious behavior and join hands with the security authorities to safeguard our country from the menace of these evil people. __
