IISJ lifts Nestle Milo Cup

International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ) defeated Pakistan International School Jeddah, English Section, (PISJ-ES) and won the Nestle Milo Under-13 Inter School Tournament which was sponsored by Nestle Milo and jointly organized by the Western Province Cricket Association and PIS-ES here last Thursday.
Batting first, PISJ-ES had a shaky start as it lost in-form opener Ahmed. Building up the innings, Saleh Ahmad countered the IISJ bowling attack and remained unbeaten on 61 with four sixes and three boundaries. Furqan played a rapid innings of 30 as PISJ reached 114-2. Adnan (1-16) and Baha (1-14) were the wicket takers.
In reply, IISJ's danger-man Hassan, dropped in the first over at mid-on, scored an unbeaten century with eight sixes and three fours. At the other end Adnan remained unbeaten on 18. IISJ won the match without losing any wicket. Hassan was declared the Man of the Match.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, PISJ-ES beat Hala International School by three wickets. Fahim and Noor of Hala enjoyed an opening partnership of 106. Faheem scored 45 (4x6) while Noor hammered a quick 41 (3x6). Saad and Osama contributed 20 and 13 respectively. Hala tallied 124. Habib took 1-32 and Irfan 1-31.
In reply, Furqan and Ahmed laid the platform for PISJ-ES's victory with an opening stand of 103 runs. Furqan played superbly for his 50 (3x6) and (3x4) while Ahmed made 47 (4x6, 1x4). Faheem (1-22) was the lone wicket taker. Furqan was adjudged the Man of the Match.
In the second semifinal encounter, IISJ recorded an emphatic win over Al-Waha International School.
Choked under the disciplined bowling of IISJ, Al-Waha scored only 65. Zubair and Mazin scored 34 and 28 runs respectively.
In reply, IISJ hit the target through Hassan (37 - 3x6, 1x4), Adnan (12) and Adil (17 n.o.). Rafay (1-24) and Zubair (1-13) were the wicket takers. Hassan was declared the Man of the Match.
In the match for the third position, Hala scored 111 runs as Noor smacked 66 (2x4, 5x6) while his opening partner Faheem scored 28.
In reply, Al-Waha collapsed under pressure from Hala bowlers. Mazin managed 36. Noor finished with 3-7. Al-Waha was bundled out for 63. Noor was declared the Man of the Match for his 66 runs and 3 wickets.
Samer Daouk (CSDM, Nestle Milo), Abdul Rehman Hamoud (CSDM), Mohammed Habeeb, Junaid Iskander, President WPCA and Nadeem Nadwi, Development Manager of SCC presented the awards.
Umpiring awards were presented to Sohail Shah and Arshad Chohan while scoring award was given to Sharjil.
Performance awards: Batsman with the maximum runs (222) and batsman with the highest individual score in a match (149 not out) - Faheem of Hala; bowler with the maximum wickets - Irfan of PISJ (5 wickets); batsman with maximum sixes - Ahmed of PISJ (12); batsman with maximum fours - Furqan of PISJ (13); batsman with highest runs in an over - Adnan of IISJ (40 vs. PISJ).
WPCA President, Junaid Iskander and Esar Hussain Shah, Principal, PISJ-ES, Nadwi and Iskander thanked the sporsors and appreciated the efforts of WPCA. __
