Hunt down terrorists, KSA urges neighbors
Saudi Gazette report
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 10 - 02 - 2009

Saudi Arabia on Monday called upon countries in the region “to shoulder their responsibilities” in hunting down terrorist suspects.
The Cabinet, meeting in its weekly session chaired by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, made the appeal days after Saudi Arabia released a list of 85 wanted terrorist suspects who have fled the Kingdom.
Six of the 83 Saudis on the list are former inmates of the US detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; the remaining two militants are Yemenis. Interpol has been alerted about the wanted men.
The Cabinet statement hailed public awareness on “the reasoning of such promoters of evil” and lauded the security forces for relentlessly foiling terrorist plots and confronting people with misguided thinking.
Well studied and systematic planning by the security forces have prevented the deviant group from gaining a foothold on Saudi soil, the statement said.
“Deviant thinking” has deluded the militants into believing they can harm their fellow citizens and their homeland and its resources from abroad, SPA quoted Iyad Bin Amin Madani, Minister of Culture and Information, as saying.
On other matters, Madani said King Abdullah briefed the Cabinet on last week's visit to the Kingdom by Turkish President Abdullah Gul.
Madani stressed the Kingdom's keenness to enhance relations with Turkey. Current cooperation between the two countries includes consultation on regional and international issues to bring about peace and stability to the region and protect peoples against extremism and divisive schemes.
On international issues, the Cabinet called upon all parties in Somalia to cooperate with the new President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, work toward national reconciliation and repudiate acts of violence against civilians.Other Cabinet decisions
