Hot Majid helps Shuraim Cricket Club secure victory in Fuchs Cup

A magnificent unbeaten century by Abdul Majid of Shuraim CC enabled his team to carve a convincing 9 wickets victory over KFSH Greens, while all-round display by Nayeem Akbar powered KFSH Blues to a fighting win over SAMBA CC in the ongoing Fuchs Cup.
The tournament is being organized by RCA and sponsored by Al-Hamrani Fuchs Petroleum and the matches are played at RCA grounds in Sulay area.
At KFSH Ground 1, KFSH Blues got the better of SAMBA CC in an intriguing match. Taking first strike KFSH Blues were given a rollicking start by openers Irfan and Faqar who blasted the SAMBA CC bowlers. Irfan in particular played aggressively to score 35 runs in only 11 balls. Faqar made a sedate 46 runs.
After they fell Nayeem Akbar batted with responsibility to make 63 runs. KFSH Blues made 211 runs in the allotted 20 overs losing 7 wickets in the process. For SAMBA CC, Hasnain took two wickets.
SAMBA CC was given a good start by Hasnain as he made a fine 43 runs. But the other batsmen were unable to force the pace against some tight bowling by Nayeem Akbar. Only Faheem Shah played with lot of resolve to make 49 runs. SAMBA CC could make only 201 runs. Nayeem took three wickets while Naser Abassi took two.
At RCA Ground 4, in another morning match Shuraim CC trounced Game Pro CC by six wickets. Game Pro took the first strike but was unable to take advantage as the wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Only Habib (35), Imran (33) and Mubashir (24) batted well. The whole team could make 151 runs. For Shuraim CC, Waqas took two wickets.
Chasing a modest target of 152 runs Shuraim CC lost two wickets for only 20 runs. But M.Majid (46), Mubashir (45) and Mujahid (33) played extremely well to take their team to a fine win. Shuraim CC Made 153 runs, losing only 4 wickets.
At RCA Ground 5, Al-Eid XI defeated Fuchs CC by three wickets. Batting first, Fuchs CC compiled a competitive score of 164-8 in the allotted 20 overs. Waqas made 42 runs while Ishtiaq scored 30 quick runs. For Al-Eid XI, Mohammed Ramazan bowled brilliantly to take 4 wickets while Arshad Mahmood took two.
Al-Eid in their chase lost three quick wickets. Thereafter M. Ramazan played a responsible knock of 46 runs to take his team to a good win. He got good support from Mohammed Owais (33) and Afzal Pasha (36). Al-Eid made 165 runs in 18.1 overs. For Fuchs CC, Aziz Ur Rahman took 2 wickets.
In the afternoon match at KFSH Ground 1, Shuraim CC demolished KFHS Greens by 9 wickets. Taking first strike, KFSH Greens got off to a bright start as Rasheed Abbasi played aggressively to score a quick 34 in only 11 balls. He hit 3 fours and 2 sixes. After he fell Eijaz Ahmed continued the tempo by making a brisk 54 with the help of 6 fours. After his fall, the remaining batsmen did not offer any resistance and the whole team got out for only 154 in 18 overs. For Shuraim CC, Abu Bakar bowled well to take 4 wickets.
Shuraim CC in its chase lost one wicket early. Bbut M.Majid played a majestic knock of unbeaten 100 to guide his team to a 9-wicket victory. Majid's century was decorated with 11 fours and 6 sixes, and he got good support from Waqas who also remained unbeaten on 42. Shuraim CC made 155 in only 12.1 overs.
At RCA Ground 2, Cricket Samarwa CC demolished Fuchs CC by 8 wickets and kept bright the prospects of a semifinal spot in Division A. Fuchs CC took the first strike but was bundled out for a paltry 97 runs. None of the Fuchs CC batsmen stayed at the wicket long enough. For Samarwa CC, Rizwan Manzoor bowled well to take 3 wickets while Tahmeed took two.
Chasing a small total Samarwa CC reached the target of 98 in only 8.2 overs. Imran made 31 runs while Eijaz made 27. __
