In his State of the Union Address, American President George W Bush argues that there is an ‘Axis of Evil', comprised of countries which are destabilising the world. He used the term in order to describe governments that he accused of helping terrorism and seeking weapons of mass destruction. President Bush named Iran, Iraq and North Korea in his speech. President Bush's presidency was marked by paranoia and he used this notion as a justification for the global ‘War on Terror'. __
