Officers of the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice are prohibited from engaging in car chases, Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Ghaith, the commission's head, said on Monday. Sheikh Ghaith's comments came in an address he delivered at his meeting with the commission's agents who enrolled in a course on designing packages of training programs. He stressed the importance of strict compliance with the instructions that regulate the commission's field work, including the prohibition to chase after suspects. “We do not allow any commission official to chase after suspects or runaway individuals,” he said, “as this could hurt both the chaser and the fugitive.
