Dubai to host largest security show in the world outside Europe

Intersec Trade Fair and Conference, the world's largest security and safety event outside Europe will take place under the patronage of Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority. The event will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre on Jan. 18-22.
Epoc Messe Frankfurt organizers of Intersec trade fair and conference have confirmed that more than 700 companies from 50 countries will be exhibiting at this year's show.
“Dubai has for long been recognized as the leading regional trading hub of the Middle East, however, in recent years, the emirate has matured into a truly international business center of global significance as is evident from the size and scale of this event,” said Sheikh Majid. “Now, the city offers international companies an ideal gateway for developing their business throughout the Middle East, the Asian subcontinent, East Africa, the Eastern Mediterranean, the CIS and Central Asia,” he said.
“We are confident that the local, regional and international companies exhibiting at Intersec trade fair and conference will have the opportunity to network and conduct business in Dubai,” he said.
Intersec trade fair and conference has grown from strength to strength benefiting from the professional management of the organizers and has succeeded in attracting the widest possible audience to Dubai and become an annual meeting point for key players in commercial and information security, homeland security, counter terrorism and policing, disaster prevention, management and recovery, and safety and health issues.
Over the years, Intersec trade fair and conference has grown in stature. Intersec in 2009 will be spread across an area of 500,000 sq feet, with an expected footfall of over 20,000 visitors across three days.
Alongside the growth of the trade fair, the Intersec conference too is gaining in prominence. The Intersec International Conference in 2009 will feature presentations by more than 60 high profile speakers, on topics for the subject “fighting terrorism and serious organized crime”.
