JEDDAH – Amal, 17 (pictured), a student of class 12 at the International Indian School-Jeddah (IISJ), drowned while taking a bath in Obhur beach of the Red Sea on Saturday. Funeral prayer for Amal was held after Asr (evening) prayers and the body was buried at the Rowais Cemetery. Hundreds of people, including students and staff of IISJ as well as relatives and members of the Indian community attended the funeral prayers. Amal, who hails from Perinthalmanna in Malappuram district of Kerala, had gone together with his parents to the beach to spend the Eid holiday. Abdul Hameed, an engineer at Saudi Binladin Company, is his father and Haseena is mother. The couple has a daughter namely Adna. — SG
