MINA – Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, emir of Makkah, advisor of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and chairman of the Central Haj Committee, said that the plan for facilitating the movement of pilgrims from Makkah to Mina was a resounding success. The security and health conditions of the pilgrims are very good, he said at a press conference in Mina on Tuesday. Prince Khaled said that the state has deployed more than 300,000 personnel to ensure a hassle-free Haj for some 1.4 million foreign pilgrims as well as for 200,000 domestic pilgrims. “It was a great delight for me when I saw not any vehicles waiting for illegal pilgrims behind the Shumaisi checkpoint,” he said, while noting that there were a lot of vehicles to carry pilgrims who walked on foot behind the checkpoint during the Haj seasons in previous years. The tent city of Mina witnessed rain, accompanied by winds on Tuesday evening. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior has launched an application entitled ‘Ayn Alhaj' which aims to help pilgrims send information when they see anything suspicious or hampering security of pilgrims and Haj via text messages, images or videos.
