NEW YORK — Francisco Lindor had three hits and four RBIs, while Danny Salazar pitched seven strong innings as the Cleveland Indians beat the Kansas City Royals 5-1 in their American League match Wednesday. Lindor hit a solo home run, his ninth of the season, in the first inning, had a two-run single in the second and an RBI single in the fourth inning. Salazar (13-8) pitched six scoreless innings before giving up a solo home run to third baseman Mike Moustakas leading off the seventh. He gave up four hits, with six strikeouts and two walks. Red Sox 10, Orioles 1 Dustin Pedroia homered twice and drove in five runs as the Boston Red Sox scored nine early runs and rolled to a 10-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Pedroia hit a two-run homer in the third and added a three-run shot in the fourth as the Red Sox scored five to go up 9-0. The Mets' lead over Washington in the National League East fell to 7-1/2 games by virtue of the Nationals' win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Nationals 12, Phillies 2 Jayson Werth homered twice, Bryce Harper hit his 40th home run of the season while Gio Gonzalez matched a career high with 12 strikeouts as the Washington Nationals beat the Philadelphia Phillies 12-2. Harper's two-run blast in the seventh gave the 22-year-old the National League home run lead over Colorado's Nolan Arenado. Cardinals 5, Brewers 4 Rookie outfielder Tommy Pham hit two home runs to lead the St. Louis Cardinals to a 5-4 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. Pham finished with three hits and just missed a third home run in the eighth, flying out to center fielder Logan Schafer, just a few feet from the wall.
