CAIRO — Egyptian singer Sherine Abdel Wahab was about to quit “The Voice Arabia,” had her fellow celebrity judges, Tunisian singer Saber Rebai, Iraqi superstar Kazem El-Saher and Lebanese singer Assi Helani not convinced her otherwise. During the show's launch, the singer-turned-actress told journalists that she was fully occupied with filming her hit TV series “Tareeqi” (My Road) last Ramadan, and was worried about being too exhausted for “The Voice,” reported Albawaba.com. However, the Egyptian talent, 34, is back in full throttle and has already started filming Season 3 of the singing competition. Who would have taken Sherine's chair instead? She said that she would have wanted Lebanese superstar Nawal Al-Zoghbi to replace her and in response to Syrian singer George Wassouf's criticism of singers judging talent competitions, Sherine said, “For someone who's spent 15 years successfully singing, and with so many fans memorizing their music, they're then entitled to judge wannabe singers. “With that being said, not every artist who takes this chair is capable of judging contestants properly.” Sherine told George that he has a big place in their hearts, adding, “It's very difficult for a person who's capable of choosing catchy music and lyrics, and one who creates a huge following, not to be able to choose the right voices, as well as training them properly.” — Agencies
